Arriving by Car
For travelers from the South and the West, exit from the A12, sign-posted Colchester Central (A133), leads to a roundabout where the second exit should be taken towards the town centre.

For those traveling from the North and Midlands via the A14 and the A12 take the exit from the A12, signposted Colchester A1232, which leads across a roundabout into Ipswich road. Follow the Ipswich Road down to the second roundabout, turn right into Cowdray Avenue and follow the route before turning left at the second roundabout.

From both directions the arrowed routes marked on the map lead to Middleborough roundabout where the first exit should be taken. The Octagon is a large red brick building on the right-hand side opposite pay and display car park.

Arriving by Train
The Octagon is about half a mile from the station. Taxis are available outside the station as are buses which serve the town centre. There are two bus stops at Colchester Station - one in the station approach which offers a limited service and the other on the corner of Clarendon Way. All buses from this latter stop go to the town centre and the bus stop at which you should alight (Causton Road) is clearly marked on the map.

If you prefer to walk, it will take approximately ten to fifteen minutes.
